Position Overview

At DPHV, we are looking for a Structural Engineer with a focus on building design who wants to play a key role in project delivery while growing in an environment where technical excellence and collaboration are genuinely valued.

This opportunity is based in our Sainte-Dorothée (Laval) office.

Your Role

As a Design Engineer and Project Manager, you will:

  • Analyze and design building structures in steel, reinforced concrete, and timber
  • Perform structural calculations and prepare clear, concise technical reports
  • Develop drawings and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings, planning, and coordination activities
  • Coordinate drawing production with drafters and ensure the quality of project deliverables
  • Conduct field surveys of existing structures when required
  • Contribute to the optimization of technical solutions and design methodologies
  • Progressively take on greater responsibilities in project management and mentoring junior team members

What We’re Looking For

We value potential, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for structural design.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or Construction Engineering with a structural specialization
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Approximately five years of experience in building structural design (flexible depending on the candidate’s profile)
  • Consulting engineering experience in Québec is a significant asset
  • Proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE
  • ASP Construction certification
  • Strong engineering judgment and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
  • Fluent in French, both spoken and written (essential)

Additional Assets

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel occasionally
