New STM Bellechasse Transportation Centre
Project Description
Located in the heart of Montréal and near several major transportation corridors, the Société de transport de Montréal’s (STM) new Bellechasse Transportation Centre replaces the former bus garages that once occupied the site. Designed to support the electrification of the transit network, this three-level, partially underground facility is ultimately intended to accommodate a fully electric bus fleet. It already houses a significant portion of STM’s hybrid buses.
With a footprint of approximately 120 m (394 ft) by 180 m (591 ft), the facility consolidates bus maintenance, servicing, and operational functions within a modern complex whose architectural design seamlessly conceals the scale of its activities.
